STEPHANIE SANCHEZ

MEET STEPHANIE

In recent seasons, dynamic mezzo-soprano Stephanie Sánchez has brought her "luscious sound and easy technique" (Classical Voice North America) to companies including Arizona Opera, Opera Montana, Opera Southwest, and The Lyric Opera of Chicago, with whom she performed roles in both Proximity: The Walkers and Proximity: Four Portraits. She began the 2023/24 season with Cincinnati Opera, singing Chief Officer's Wife in The Knock. She went on to make her role debut as Die Hexe in Hänsel und Gretel with Kentucky Opera, and she then debuted with Opera Omaha as the titular Frida Kahlo in El ultimo sueño de Frida y Diego. In summer 2024, she joins West Edge Opera as Flosshilde/Fricka/Erda in Der Ring in einem Abend. In the 2024/25 season, she returns to Phoenix Symphony for Messiah and joins The Lyric Opera of Chicago for The Listeners. She reprises the role of Carlotta in Zorro with Arizona Opera and debuts with Seattle Opera as Yesi in the workshop of Stomping Grounds.

SEASON SPOTLIGHT

In 2023, Stephanie Sánchez enjoyed a successful debut with The Lyric Opera of Chicago, performing Chief's Daughter #2 in Proximity: The Walkers and Passenger 3 in Proximity: Four Portraits. In previous engagements with the company, she covered Second Lady (The Magic Flute) and Mercédès (Carmen).
